About the Roundhouse:
Roundhouse is an iconic music and arts venue in Camden. Since the 1960s we’ve opened up space for creativity to empower people and communities – day in, night out. We’re on a mission to raise the creative potential of the UK so we give young people and artists the space to experiment, develop skills and be part of incredible moments that go down in history

The Role
We’re looking for a full-time Trainee Podcast Producer to work with the team running the award winning Transmission Roundhouse (TR). We produce the most creative and innovative audio-led content made by 18-30 year olds from the heart of one of London’s most exciting venues. This is a fantastic time to join the TR team as we have recently moved into our new state of the art podcast studio as part of Roundhouse Works Creative centre.

We’re hoping to find someone who wants to gain the skills and experience to carve their own career in the audio industry. You’ll work alongside the Senior Producer to recruit a new cohort of talented presenters and producers and support them to develop and produce podcasts and content. You’ll be supporting the day-to-day running of the audio platform, building a roster of new shows, regularly supporting the emerging presenters and producers, and developing partnerships with community and industry based contacts as well as maintaining good working relationships with colleagues in the Roundhouse.

At the beginning of this position we will work with you to create a learning & development plan that will aim to guide and facilitate your growth as an audio professional to best prepare you for further progression in the industry. This will include specified outcomes that will be reviewed and assessed throughout the traineeship as you gain the skills and experience required for a podcast and audio producer.

As well as supporting the audio based ideas of young creatives, the role involves working alongside the Broadcast and Digital Team to deliver content inspired by in-venue programming such as The Last World Festival, In The Round and working collaboratively with the film team.

You will receive internal and external training to further your skills and knowledge, this will include but is not limited to:
• Podcast Development including ideas generating and production planning.
• Project Management including budgeting.
• Studio Management including scheduling.
• Technical Development and gain wider understanding of DAWs (Digital Audio Workstation) including Adobe Audition, Pro Tools, Logic, Abelton etc.
• Peer Mentoring & Volunteer Management including creating personal development plans and monitoring progress.

Please note weekend and evening work will sometimes be required according to business needs.

About you:
This is a unique opportunity open to 18-25 year olds, to be part of a growing and innovative platform, so we’re looking for someone with some studio and audio experience, who is enthusiastic about producing excellent audio, technical troubleshooting and works best when working with other people.

In your application we’d love to hear a short bit of audio from you, as described below. Please include an online link to this in the body of your application:

– An audio clip of no longer than 1 minute from a programme or feature you’ve produced OR an audio recording of a supporting statement telling us why you should be selected for this role. You can be as creative as you like.

We welcome applications from people who feel they can bring their own skills, experiences and ideas to the table and empower those around them to do the same. We encourage those currently underrepresented across the cultural sector and all intersections of our diverse society to apply.

The successful candidate must have a current and acceptable DBS check, or be willing to undertake one due to the nature of this role.
