About the Roundhouse
The Roundhouse is a Grade II* listed iconic venue, a former railway engine repair shed that was transformed into a ground-breaking performing arts venue 50 years ago, and we have welcomed legendary artists from all over the world to perform in our unique spaces.
More than this, The Roundhouse is a hub of inspiration where artists and emerging talent create extraordinary work and where young people can grow creatively as individuals.
We are the UK’s leading Creative Centre for young people with 24 dedicated on-site studios and an advice base situated underneath the main space and in early 2023 we will open a new building of studios and workspace that will enable us to double the number of young people we work with. Our programmes are embedded in the grounding principles of youth work and focus on young people’s creative potential.
By giving young people the chance to engage with the arts through our music, media and performing arts projects, we inspire them to reach further, dream bigger, and achieve more.
The Role
We are approaching the most exciting time in the Roundhouse’s history; In early 2023, we’ll be opening a new state-of-the-art creative centre as an expansion to our current offer for young people. This new, dedicated young people’s space will complete our site offering space and programmes to turn their creativity into a career.
We are looking for a Venue Director who will be responsible for the maintenance and continual development of the Roundhouse venue and estate. As well as developing and driving forwarded our environmental sustainability strategy.
About you
A key member of our Leadership Team, the role will provide strategic leadership for the operational delivery of the Roundhouse’s output of live music, artistic and creative programmes, private hires and other functions. You will be an experienced senior leader, managing a busy, high capacity venue. Successful in delivering projects as well as having extensive knowledge of the relevant regulations of managing a venue.
